Pilates is a versatile form of exercise that can be done with or without equipment. Here are some Pilates exercises that can be done without any equipment:

Beginner's Guide to Pilates Equipment (8)

  1. The Hundred: This exercise is a classic Pilates move that can be done without any equipment. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your head and shoulders off the ground and reach your arms straight out in front of you. Pump your arms up and down while holding your abs tight. Do 100 pumps.

  2. Single Leg Stretch: This exercise targets the abs and can be done without any equipment. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your head and shoulders off the ground and bring your right knee toward your chest while extending your left leg straight out. Switch sides and bring your left knee toward your chest while extending your right leg straight out. Repeat for several reps.

  3. Roll Up: This exercise targets the entire core and can be done without any equipment. Lie on your back with your arms extended straight up toward the ceiling. Slowly roll up, one vertebrae at a time, until you are sitting up with your arms extended over your legs. Slowly roll back down to the starting position. Do several reps.

  4. Double Leg Stretch: This exercise targets the abs and can be done without any equipment. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your head and shoulders off the ground and bring your knees toward your chest while bringing your arms around your shins. Extend your arms and legs straight out, then bring them back in to the starting position. Repeat for several reps.

  5. Plank: This exercise targets the entire core and can be done without any equipment. Start in a push-up position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your body in a straight line from your head to your heels. Hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute, keeping your abs tight and your body in a straight line.
